Last month, Ubisoft unveiled Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, a successor to 2016’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. While the platform was not included in the initial announcement, Kotaku is claiming that Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is coming to Google Stadia.
This rumor was briefly mentioned within a bigger report regarding cross-save support and a Google Stadia release for Bungie’s Destiny 2. Though the focus of the article is on another game, when discussing big games coming to Google Stadia Jason Schreier states “We also expect Ghost Recon Breakpoint and a few other big games to get announced for Stadia.”
While a Google Stadia release for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has not been confirmed by Ubisoft at this time, the publisher has shown a lot of support for Google’s new streaming platform. When Stadia was known as Project Stream, the service was tested with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Yves Guillemot was also directly called out and thanked during the platform’s GDC reveal event, suggesting that there is a strong relationship between Google and Ubisoft.
The Kotaku report does not say when this Google Stadia port will be announced, though there are a two likely candidates for an announcement over the next week if this rumor is true. Tomorrow, Google is holding a Stadia Connect livestream that will reveal new games for the system at 12pm ET tomorrow. Subsequently, Ubisoft is holding their annual E3 press conference on Monday, June 10 at 4pm ET and Ubisoft has stated that Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will make an appearance there.
