miHoYo released a special page featuring Xiao in All That Glitters, the Version 1.3 update of Genshin Impact Genshin Impact (PC, PS4, PS5, Mobile, Switch soon), with gameplay of his Elemental Skill and Burst. As you scroll down, the page features several gameplay footage for Xiao, and explanation for the upcoming All That Glitters and Lantern Rite festival events. We already detailed everything we know about the Version 1.3 events. Next, the Japanese official Twitter for Genshin Impact also revealed exclusive gameplay footage and information on Xiao and his Elemental Skill and Burst. We summarized everything below.
As you already know, Xiao will be obtainable through a new Gacha banner starting February 3 with the All That Glitters update. Xiao uses Polearms and is an Anemo character. The only other polearm characters playable in Genshin Impact right now are Xiangling (Pyro) and Zhongli (Geo). As such, Xiao is the first ever Anemo character using a polearm.
Xiao is voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito in Sword Art Online) in Japanese and by Laila Berzins in English. In Japanese, Xiao’s name is pronounced Syou.
Firstly, Xiao’s Normal Attack is Whirlwind Thrust. He launches a flurry of polearm strikes with incredible speed. Some of the attacks can most notably interrupt or launch enemies. Moreover, Xian’s plunging attack is special in how the higher away he attacks from, the stronger the damage.

Xiao Elemental Skill, Lemnistatic Wind Cycling.
Xiao rushes forward and deals Anemo DMG to all enemies in his path. Lemnistatic Wind Cycling can be activated in mid-air, and can be charged two times. A cooldown is egnerated each time you activate the skill. Note that Xiao’s Elemental Skill’s name in Japanese has the prefix “For Teikun’s sake”. Teikun is how Adeptus call the Geo Archon Morax in Japanese. This shows Xiao’s loyalty as a Yaksha towards the god of contracts.

Xiao Elemental Burst, Bane of All Evil.
Xiao wears his masks and becomes one of the Yaksha who inspired fear into demons thousands of years ago. Xiao’s jumping power is greatly increased, and all his attacks are converted into Anemo DMG. His attack range and overall DMG are also enhanced. However, when activating Bane of All Evil, Xiao will continuously loose HP. The HP drain effect ends when switching characters.

Over on Twitter, the character profile of Xiao was shared as well. His favorte food being Almond Tofu is something you should know if you read the game’s story so far. Xiao has no hobbies liested unlike all past characters, and he just spends his time at the Wangshu Inn.

Genshin Impact Version 1.3 All That Glitters and Xiao will launch on February 3. miHoYo previously revealed a Story Teaser trailer for Xiao. More Xiao-focused trailers should be coming soon, with the usual cinematic Character Trailer. And the Collected Miscellany (gameplay breakdown). Meanwhile, Ganyu is still the current featured character. The Slime Paradise Web Event is also ongoing till January 31, 2021.
