We are approaching the end of Season 7 of Epic Games’ massively popular battle royale game Fortnite. As you attempt to finish up those challenges before the current season ends, the upcoming Season 8 has been teased. From Fortnite‘s official Twitter account, it looks like the next season will bring Pirate-themed content; specifics on what that entails is unknown. However, the tweet may have some clues as to what we can expect.

It seems players may be scavenging for treasure around Fortnite‘s island and an “X” will mark the spot where said treasure is. The phrase “loot that has been lost can always be found” is a bit more ambiguous. Maybe that is teasing the return of some of the game’s vaulted weapons like the Zapotron or, most recently, the Boombox. Maybe it’s a feature that leans more into the pirate theme. Whatever it is, we’ll definitely know when Season 8 begins on February 28, 2019.
In other Fortnite news, a player recreated Smash Mouth’s hit song “All-Star” on the in-game piano that can be found in Pleasant Park. Using the piano as the main melody and gunfire for the percussion sections, it’s pretty impressive even if you aren’t a fan of the song.
If you aren’t already playing Fortnite, it is available for everything. Specifically, you can find it for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, Mac, and mobile devices for free.
