Announced on Epic Game’s website, a change is coming to Fortnite’s PvE mode Fortnite: Save the World when discussing loot boxes. Starting in update v7.30, any Llama (loot box) available in the V-bucks store will show it’s contents without requiring a purchase.
The new loot boxes will be referred to as “X-Ray” Llamas rather than the previous name V-Buck Llamas. The prices will remain the same, and the llamas will still be available to be earned through gameplay rather than real-world currency. The price will also not change when the llama upgrades. You will be able to see the upgrade before you purchase and any item can come from the cheapest Llama.
When the new update is released, you will no longer be able to purchase multiple V-Buck Llamas at one time. Epic stated that the reason this change is taking place is that they want to show you the rewards of each Llama one at a time, which then gives you more choice in which one you would like to open.
Mini Llamas and event Llamas will remain the same. You will still be able to bulk open those with resources earned through gameplay.
When the update comes out, all existing Save the World players will get five free upgrade tokes to use on the new system.
Fortnite: Save the World is currently available for PC, MAC, PS4, and Xbox One.
