In troubled times, many turn to music to relax. Square Enix just revealed this is the case for Cloud, who can collect music discs in Final Fantasy VII Remake, and listen to them with the Jukebox at Seventh Heaven. Here’s how it works, along with some screenshots.
When walking around Midgar, there are some places where a new music track is played. When this happens, if you can obtain said music track as an in-game disc, a disc mark will appear at the top left of the screen. You can obtain music discs from citizens, (unspecified in the press release but probably through quests), or by buying them at shops.
You can then play the discs with the jukebox at Seventh Heaven.
These kinds of in-game Music Test modes are a staple of many JRPGs and games in general so it’s not too surprising such a feature in Final Fantasy VII Remake. We haven’t heard whether or not Cloud can go to some fishing spot in Midgar though.
Besides the Jukebox, Square Enix also revealed a plethora of Final Fantasy VII Remake screenshots and details regarding new characters and locations in Wall Market. A video about the game’s development was also published, with interviews with its core developers such as Tetsuya Nomura. The same Tetsuya Nomura recently revealed tons of other details in an interview we translated, such as the fact Gackt that won’t be in the game.
Final Fantasy VII Remake launches on April 10, 2020. A demo is currently available. If you like our coverage and wish to support us, you can preorder FF7R via Amazon here.
