On Wednesday night, May 8, the European designer brand took to Kennedy Airport to reveal its 2020 cruise collection. Final Fantasy 8 is considered one of the popular titles among the series. Although it’s not top tier like Final Fantasy 7, it’s still well-known and personally one of my favorites.
Final Fantasy 8 was developed by Square, now Square Enix, and released on February 8, 1999 in Japan, and September 9, 1999 in the U.S. Later, FFVIII came to the PlayStation Store in 2009, for PS3, and PSP, with support for PlayStation Vita in 2012.
Since then there’s been complete silence on what happened to FFVIII because we haven’t seen a new port since 2012. Rumor is Square Enix lost the original source code for the game, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Maybe one day we’ll be able to see Final Fantasy 8 ported to the Nintendo Switch or PS4. I know it’s a long shot, but one can dream, can’t they? You can view the fashion show below, but Liberi Fatali begins at 2:30:
