Deep Silver and Codemasters have officially revealed F1 2020 as the next installment of this long-running franchise with a brief teaser trailer that doesn’t provide anything further than a release date.
Since the time Codemasters took the helm for working on official Formula 1 video games, they’ve mostly managed to improve the realistic experience of driving super-fast cars on the world’s most famous tracks while competing against some well-known real-world drivers to claim the crown of victory. However, in our estimation, they weren’t successful enough with the latest version of the game. Every year, Codemasters is expected to deliver a new iteration of the series with some significant improvements, and fortunately, this year the expectations seem feasible as F1 2020 will be available with a brand new My Team mode, allowing you to establish your own F1 team and take part in the seasons.
If you want to start your personal adventure, the Career mode will still be available with three different season lengths, two new circuits, and some new options to help newcomers to adjust the difficulty of the challenges in a highly detailed way. Furthermore, the local split-screen multiplayer will make a comeback to the series in F1 2020.
Paul Jeal, the franchise director at Codemasters, indicated that the team is trying to bring the most innovative entry of the series with F1 2020 by adding some new modes, expanding the available options in tournaments, and making the game a bit easy-to-learn for those who are new into the series.
The game is set to be released on July 10 for PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC. Codemasters will be offering a Deluxe Schumacher Edition alongside the standard version, featuring Michael Schumacher and four of his most iconic cars listed below and some classic in-game liveries.

- 1994: Benetton B194
- 1995: Benetton B195
- 2000: Ferrari F1-2000
Up until now, neither Codemasters nor Deep Silver has revealed any plans for releasing the game on next-gen consoles.
