The Game Awards treated us to some excellent new trailers this evening. Some were expected, but a few big surprises also hit. One of the latter was a trailer for Evil Dead: The Game. It’s being made by the team behind World War Z and WWE 2K Battlegrounds, so something of a mixed bag. That said, what they’ve shown in the short trailer looks like it could be fun. Plus, it has Bruce Campbell, so that’s a big win. Check it out.
Obviously, we didn’t get to see much gameplay from Evil Dead: The Game. That said, it certainly has the look of a multiplayer horde-based game. We do know that it will have both co-op and PvP play, though that’s about it. Regardless, it’s pretty neat to see some of the fan-favorite characters show up here. I’m not the biggest Evil Dead fan out there, but I’m pretty sure we can see both Kelly Maxwell and Arthur in that trailer. More eagle-eyed fans might notice a few more faces pop up.
Personally, I’ll hold off on judging the game too much until we see more. Knowing this is the studio behind WWE 2K Battlegrounds gives me a bit of a pause; however, we just don’t know enough to be sure. It looks like it could be something akin to Left 4 Dead, but I could just as easily see it going the Dead by Daylight route. Either way, we’ll know soon enough.
Evil Dead: The Game is set to launch sometime in 2021. When it does, it’ll come to Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
