Ever since it was announced to be a Playstation exclusive (on console, it’ll be out on PC as well) fans of the FNAF series have been asking about the FNAF Security Breach release date.
While it’s still a little ambiguous, we can take our best, educated guesses on when exactly the next entry in the hit horror series will make its debut.

Initial Release Date
Back when the game was initially teased, it was scheduled to have a 2020 release date. It was speculated based on a calendar leak, that it would come out before July 15, 2020. The game’s creator, Scott Cawthon, addressed the leak and said that it was inaccurate. He said that while they were aiming for a 2020 launch, it wouldn’t be until the end of the year.
Current Release Date
As of right now, March 9, there is no official FNAF Security Breach release date. We know that it’s scheduled for “early 2021,” but with the unforeseen complications that the COVID-19 pandemic has introduced, game releases have been a little loose. Luckily, we’ve seen it twice now during large Playstation events, so it’s been easy to keep track of.
Developer Update
Fans of the FNAF series know and appreciate how transparent Scott Cawthon is with its community. Back in November, Cawthon posted in the games’ Reddit forums clearing the air about the previously announced 2020 release date. He explains Security Breach‘s development by comparing it to a cake. He wanted it ready by Christmas, which seemed doable until he realized the scope and magnitude of the “cake.” Rather than cut content, he decided to delay Security Breach into 2021. He adds at the end of the post to expect it in “early 2021, not late 2021.”
