The Nintendo Switch, despite some hardware limitations, has been surprisingly friendly to Musou games. So far Hyrule Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors and Warriors Orochi 4 have all hit the system, and today Koei Tecmo America announced plans to bring a definitive edition of Dynasty Warriors 8 to the hybrid console before the end of 2018.
Specifically, Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition will be releasing for Nintendo Switch digitally on December 27, 2018. This version of the game will cost $39.99 at launch, but those who pick it up during its first week on sale will receive a 10% discount. Sadly, Koei Tecmo confirmed to DualShockers that there are no plans to release Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch physically in the west.
This port includes all of the DLC content that both Dynasty Warriors 8 and Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends received. Koei Tecmo America also revealed that those who have picked up Warriors Orochi 4 on Switch will receive some special bonus costumes if they decide to pick up Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition.
This announcement came alongside a ton of new screenshots showcasing the game on Nintendo Switch, so you can check those out below. Dynasty Warriors 8 is already available on PC, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, while Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition will grace Nintendo Switch on December 27.
