Six years ago around the last week of January, Techland officially launched Dying Light as a brand new IP after its Dead Island series. The game didn’t receive favorable reviews from the outlets at the time, however, the developer didn’t stop supporting the game with new content. Over six years after its launch, Dying Light still receives new content. The latest Dying Light update includes some mysterious additions that refers to an upcoming event.
Although almost a month has passed since the anniversary of Dying Light, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the upcoming event is an anniversary celebration. According to the pre-patch notes of the Dying Light update 1.32, this new patch adds new weapons, new outfits, a new type of live event, and fixes some of the bugs. When Techland doesn’t roll out the full patch notes for an update, it probably means there should be an announcement before sharing the full details of the patch. If there’s going to be an anniversary event for Dying Light, we will probably fin out soon.

- Added new outfits
- New type of live event added
- Minor bug fixes

Despite working on new content for Dying Light, most of the Techland members are currently focused on finishing the development process of the sequel. The game was supposed to launch in Spring 2020, but after the departure of some key members of the studio, the project delayed indefinitely. That being said, Techland recently promised to share more about Dying Light 2 and its development status in the near future. So, the new anniversary event might feature some details about the sequel to Dying Light.
Dying Light is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The sequel targets a launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
