It’s been some time since we heard anything about Dying Light 2. Today we got a short release date tease.
The last big news we heard about Dying Light 2 was its indefinite delay.
While there have been DLCs released for the original Dying Light and a handful of small developer updates, today we got something a little bit more substantial in the form of a video update.
Here’s everything we know so far about the Dying Light 2 release date.

Dying Light 2 Release Date Teaser
It’s been speculated for some time now that Dying Light 2 would be hitting shelves at some point in 2021. Thanks to a development update video today from the game’s developers at Techland, we can now confirm that Dying Light 2 will be coming out sometime in 2021. Unfortunately, that’s all we know for certain. The video didn’t provide any clues as to when the release window might be other than it’s slotted for release sometime this year.
While that’s not a whole lot to go off of, it’s certainly something. We’ve spent the past several months worrying about whether the game was actually going to come out or not, so any confirmation that development is going well is welcome here.
Other Notable Moments in Dev Update
It seems like the main point for this update was to reassure fans that the game is, in fact, coming out this year. The video is led with developers reading some pretty seriously abusive tweets sent Techland’s way. Although it might be to show how high demand is for the game, the tweets add to the pile of abusive interactions between fans and developers.
Most notably, the update ends with about 30 seconds of trailer footage for the game.
