Today Square Enix held the second day of the final Dragon Quest XI Countdown Carnival event in the Futako-Tamagawa area of Tokyo.
During the event, series creator Yuji Horii and Producer Yosuke Saito introduced the CGI opening video that shows the prologue of the game.
As usual, the standard for Square Enix CGI is extremely high, and the video looks absolutely fantastic. It’s worth mentioning that Horii-san clarified that the video will be the same for both the PS4and 3DS versions of the game.
On top of the video, we also get to see pictures of the bonus themes for both 3DS and PS4 that will be distributed for free in Japan tomorrow. You can enjoy them in the gallery at the bottom of the post. The images for the PS4 theme are conveniently clean, lacking the system software icons, so you can use them as your desktop.
You can check the opening video out below. And if you want to know more, you can check out a recent bunch of information on elements like PS4 Pro support and video sharing guidelines, some new commercials starring celebrities, a couple of interesting clips and images from yesterday’s event in Tokyo, recent new screenshots showing characters and skills, and more footage displaying riding monsters and more.
Dragon Quest XI will release in Japan on July 29th for PS4 and 3DS, with a Nintendo Switch release also planned at some time down the line. At the moment we know pretty mch nothing about it, besides that it’s coming, and that Square Enix isn’t talking about it due to “adult circumstances.”
