Square Enix shared new screenshots of Dragon Quest Builders 2: Destruction God Malroth and the Empty Island, showing another island to explore in the game, Monzola Island.
In order to build and live on the titular Empty island, the player will need to explore neighboring islands to meet new characters or find materials. Monzola Island is a barren and desolate place where the only fruits growing are Babango fruits. These fruits rot the soil and are the main cause behind the island’s state. Furthermore, a group called the Hagon Organization controls the island, telling its inhabitants building on the island will bring misfortune.
Inhabitants of Monzola island include Chaco, a self-proclaimed agriculture genius who wishes to reforest the island, and Dolton, a bearded man who works with Chaco. He, however, believes in the Hagon Organization’s teaching and refuses to build things. We also get to see some of the monsters on the island: Iron Ants, Mondrils and Orcs.
You can check out Monzola Island in the new screenshots below. You can also watch gameplay from Tokyo Game Show 2018 and the previous batch of screenshots.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 will launch for PS4 and Switch in Japan on December 20th. A western release hasn’t been announced for now.
