Surprising nobody, Jiren has confirmed to be the first character that’ll be included in Dragon Ball FighterZ’s season 2 DLC pass. Earlier this month, the character was leaked via a Shonen Jump magazine. Following the leak, Bandai Namco took to Twitter to tease the character even further.

Today, during the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals, producer Tomoko Hiroki commented on the character’s inclusion:
“If you’re a fan of Dragon Ball Super… I mean, it’s Jiren. Come on.”
As of right now, we have not seen the character in-game. We’ll likely get our first chance to see him in action today towards the end of the tournament if I had to guess. Additionally, we should be hearing more about the new Dragon Ball Z action-RPG from Bandai Namco as well.
If you’re unfamiliar with Jiren, he’s from the Tournament of Power Arc in Dragon Ball Super. He’s one of the most powerful foes Goku has had to face in the show, even outdoing Lord Beerus. While I’m not a huge fan of the villain, his inclusion is still pretty exciting.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. If you’d like to check out the World Tour Finals for yourself, you can watch them here.
