Today Bandai Namco released the first screenshots of the recently-revealed Digimon game Digimon Survive.

The game will be released in Japan for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019.

The game is a “survival simulation RPG” in which the player’s “selection” determines the evolution of the Digimon, introducing a concept that never appeared in Digimon games before. The story is a tale of survival about a boy and a girl surviving after finding themselves in a different world.

The character design is handled by Uichi Ukumo, while the music is composed by Tomoki Miyoshi (SoulCalibur V, I am Setsuna).

More information about the game will be delivered on July 29th during a livestreamed event from Odaiba, Tokyo. You can find the embed for that at the bottom of the post.

You can check out the screenshots below.

One thing is for sure: this appears to be quite the departure from the latest Digimon game for consoles, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory.
