Developer Eidos Montréal has been busy to say the very least. With Shadow of the Tomb Raider set to be released later this year on September 14th and co-developing an Avengers project with Crystal Dynamics, many fans of the Deus Ex series have been questioning whether or not there will be another addition to the cyberpunk series. Thankfully, Eidos Montréal’s Head of Studio David Anfossi has put those fears to rest and stated, “Deus Ex is not dead, I confirm that.”
On Friday, Eidos Montréal’s Twitter page tweeted this response from part of an interview Anfossi did with PCGamesN:
Many of you have been wondering about the future of Deus Ex: here’s the word from our Head of Studio @DavidAnfossi. We’re grateful for your continued support – all of us here at @EidosMontreal love the Deus Ex franchise as much as you do! 💛 https://t.co/vJEm6ssLtb

As for the third game Eidos Montréal has in development, some fans have speculated that it is another game set in the Marvel Universe, possibly based on Guardians of the Galaxy. One thing it will not be, however, is another Thief game. Anfossi was clear in denying any rumors surrounding the development of a fifth Thief game. He added that while they are a big studio, they want “to focus on things we do and do it correctly.” Anfossi denied a fifth Thief game last year as well.
