Bungie’s online first-person shooter Destiny 2 has been popular for a while now, and since the arrival of the Xbox Series X / S and PS5, conversations surrounding the game seem to have increased. This is more than likely due to the new Beyond Light DLC that finds players heading to Europa on a new story. And shortly after the DLC, on November 21, players that were brave enough to try took part in the Deep Stone Crypt raid — and we’ve been given the numbers.
Deep Stone Crypt is a raid in Destiny 2 that took place on Europa, and it’s usual for teams and clans of up to 6 players to form a fireteam in an attempt to be the first to beat the raid on day 1. This raid saw the Luminous clan become the first in the world to defeat it. Figures state that the race through the crypt was finished in 5 and a half hours. Additionally, 404,000 people tuned in on Twitch to watch the raid race that took part on day one.
Any Guardians that completed the raid by December 1 at 9am PST should have unlocked the ability to purchase a Bungie Rewards Deep Stone Crypt Raid Jacket. According to the figures, the Deep Stone Crypt raid alone saw 29,814 unique raid activity clears on the very first day.
Other figures take place over the 10 days, with 258,049 unique raid activity clears in total being recorded. Players had also played a total of 7,156,651 hours while racking up 1,100,488,566 kills, and with a total of 85,008,596 deaths.
For comparison, we have stats for the Last Wish raid and Garden of Salvation raid from the 10 days since those raids launched. Last Wish saw 3,555 unique raid activity clears, 2,185,983 total player hours, 338,667,495 kills, and 32,734,027 deaths.
For the Garden of Salvation, 33,152 unique raid activity clears were recorded, with 2,807,504 player hours, 446,461,881 total kills, and 42,676,699 deaths.
Bungie also saw over 979,680 Destiny 2 players unlock The Lament, an exotic quest in Beyond Light that finds players completing numerous steps to eventually unlock a beefy looking sword.
If you’re wanting to jump into Destiny 2 it’s available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Google Stadia. It’s available on Xbox Series X / S and PS5 as well with a next-generation upgrade planned to launch next week.
