Ever since its reveal, the long-awaited Death Stranding from Hideo Kojima has been steep in mystery and has kept fans guessing as to what the game might actually, with all we know from the game coming from its incredibly made (and incredibly cryptic trailers). While the most recent look at the game came from E3 2018, some fans anticipation has built up that a certain Twitter account may have a surprise in store tied for the game very, very soon.
As noted on a ResetEra thread (from user Vestan), the Twitter account “Archillect,” which is a bot account that posts pictures and GIFs on an automated cycle every 10 minutes, caught the attention of some users over a month ago when it shared some images that users connected to Death Stranding. Notably, several of the images took users to a redirect to Kojima Production’s official website through a page marked “archillect.com/204863” – with the number “204863” being an easter egg from Kojima’s previous project P.T.
That sleuthing from fans boiled over today as the Archillect account shared a GIF that was drawn from the Death Stranding trailer at E3 2018, and users noted that several of the past images from the account have also been shared/retweeted by Hideo Kojima himself.

Likewise, the account has also been sharing several images and GIFs from some of Kojima’s favorite films, such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, and more, giving fans more speculation that the Archillect account may in some way be tied to Kojima himself.
This deduction from fans has led to the idea that when Archillect posts picture #204863 — which is set to happen within just the next hour — sometime after 6:30pm ET — there may be some sort of reveal or connection to Death Stranding shared by the account, or possibly some sort of announcement for the game on the horizon.
Of course, all of this speculation is to be taken with a massive grain of salt, given just how much that Hideo Kojima is known to leave all sorts of breadcrumbs for fans to try and figure out their actual meaning. However, while there’s no knowing just yet whether or not Archillect has any ties to Kojima and Death Stranding, we only have to wait just about an hour from now to see for ourselves whether or not it does in fact have a surprise in store for us for the anticipated PS4 game.
UPDATE: As of 6:40pm ET, the Archillect account shared a curious image that appears to be some kind of color coded-message. Obviously there’s no knowing yet whether it’s anything in relation to Death Stranding, or perhaps another mystery wrapped inside of a puzzle that “could” be tied to the game.
