Yesterday, we got a deliciously weird infomercial for Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise. Now, the team at TOYBOX is back with an even more in-depth trailer that provides a great look at the many oddities players will get up to when they visit Le Carré next month. It’s 17 minutes of York and the town’s oddball denizens that you absolutely have to check out. Give it a watch below.
Okay, let’s get it out of the way before you jump to the comments. Yes, Deadly Premonition 2 looks like it might be a bit of a technical mess. Sure, the audio mixing is super off, especially when York hops on a skateboard. Here’s the thing though: none of that matters.
What Deadly Premonition lacks in technical chops, it more than makes up for in style and general wackiness. I know comparing video games to movies is a bit of a hot topic right now, but these games are like The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Full of camp and ready have a good time.
I mean, look at York riding a skateboard. Or that weird lady praying to a bowling ball goddess. Just like its predecessor, this game is going to be so much fun. Maybe it won’t play well, but the joy of seeing what kind of shenanigans York gets up to is worth the price of admission.
Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise launches for Nintendo Switch on July 10. If you haven’t given the first game a playthrough, it’s available now on PC and Switch.
