CD Projekt RED’s upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077 is an incredibly anticipated title set to launch later this year after being delayed. The game is already looking like it has a lot of violence, and characters shown through trailers and promotional art look incredibly attractive and “unf”. Well, last night Brazil’s classification board appears to have leaked the rating of the game along with information about what we can expect to see in terms of mature content.
PCGamesN reported that Brazil’s classification board had briefly published the details surrounding Cyberpunk 2077’s age rating, however, it was quick to pull the page down, but not before Reddit user JordhanMK grabbed everything they could, including screenshots and a rough translation from the PDF. Now, most of what’s included in this classification is probably exactly what you’d expected to see in Cyberpunk 2077 which has, in Brazil been rated 18+.
There appears to be content such as violence with and without weapons, criminal actions with and without weapons, derogatory language, sexual pleasurement, drug consumption, foul language, sexual language, drug trafficking, sexual exploitation, and sexualization. There’s more! Nudity, death, prostitution, mutilation, intense sexual relations, suicide, cruelty, and some others that go without saying, such as corpses, etc. You can see examples of some of these things in action in the above official gameplay video.
There’s one particular area that mentions “aggravating”, stating that drug consumption and an intense sexual relationship was “aggravated” by scene composition. Now, with this being a rough translation, my first thought was that perhaps the scenes show the actions in full, however “scene composition” seems to indicate, to me at least, that perhaps the camera is positioned in a way that blocks some of the more intense scenes. What do you think?
The lead quest designer for Cyberpunk 2077, Paweł Sasko caught wind of the leaked rating and tweeted, “You surprised? We don’t fuck around.”

It certainly seems like Cyberpunk 2077 is going all out with mature content. Back in March, Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED announced that the game had been submitted to numerous rating boards. On April 9, he confirmed that it had been rated by the vast majority.
We just submitted @cyberpunkgame to age rating agencies around the world (PEGI, ESRB, etc.). While we wait for the game to get rated, we work on polishing technical aspects and playtesting it. Game is looking better and better with each passing day!

Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be building the hype as it grows nearer to its planned September 17 release date when it lands on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. We’ve seen a Cyberpunk 2077-themed Xbox One X a bunch of SteelSeries products such as headphones, and Nvidia has revealed an RTX 2080 Ti graphics card themed after the game.
