Minit has been updated on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch with a new speedrun setting. This game mode adds a on-screen timer that tracks the amount of time you have been playing, making tracking speedruns much easier. It also includes support for different completion types, from any % timed speedruns to 110% runs to achieve everything in the game.
This update also introduces tweaks, fixes, and new language options such as Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean.
From October 4 to November 4, 2018 at 5:00 P.M. Central US time the top players who have the fastest time in two categories: Any % normal and 110% Fewest Runs, will win a Minit Speedrun Champ shirt, Minit Plush, and a Deveolver Digital Game Pack. The qualifications are that the submission must fit into one of the two categories, must be submitted and verified by Speedrun.com with a video, and the playthrough cannot be tool assisted, edited, or had any other modifications made to the game.
Currently Voxelse of France holds the first place in Any % Normal with 7 minutes and 48 seconds. That player also holds the first place in the 110% Fewest Runs mode with 19 minutes 55 seconds and 43 runs. Both runs were completed on PC and you can view the video for each here for Any % and here for 110%.
During this community challenge Minit will also be 25% off on all platforms, though it currently only applies to Steam, GOG, and Switch’s eShop.
Minit launched on April 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and later came to the Nintendo Switch on August 9. We thought the game was great in our review.
For those of you who gotta go fast: the new speedrun setting should make life even easier! Today's update will also add some new languages.
