Today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu included new screenshots and information on the upcoming Souls-like action-JRPG by Bandai Namco Code Vein.
First of all, we meet a new character, Emily Sue. Like Yakumo, she belongs to a private paramilitary organization taking orders from Mido, and she has been the subjects of human experimentation. She has been separated from Yakumo since the great collapse, and he considers her like family. It’s possible to explore their relationship by reliving his memories.
Yakumo himself is a precious companion able to help with exploration. He hates Mido, as he was also a victim of his clandestine experiments.
We also get to see one of the dungeons included in the game, the “City of Fire.” It’s a city that is eternally ablaze with flames. In both the City of Fire and the Ridge of Frozen Souls, there are areas of the thorns that have been disturbed by the power of the Queen imbued in her successors.
last, but not least, we get to see two attacks that can be performed with the hammer-type weapons: the aptly named “Huge Hammer” and “Impulse Anchor.”
You can check out the images below, keeping in mind that they’re from magazine scans, so the quality isn’t perfect.
If you want to see more, you can also enjoy a recent trailer and another batch of screenshots. Recently, we got an update on development and on the developers’ ambitions to grow the game into a franchise.
Code Vein will launch sometime in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’re interested, you can pre-order it on Amazon.
