If building cities is your jam, then over the weekend, Paradox Interactive’s Cities: Skylines is allowing players to jump on Xbox One and PC versions for free starting from today and through the weekend. The reasoning for this is to celebrate a brand new Content Creator Pack, and Radio Station DLC that are both heading to PC, Xbox One today, and PS4 on November 8.
The Content Creator Pack comes from Cities: Skylines modder, Jason Ditmars, also known online as AmiPolizeiFunk. The pack introduces 39 unique models to add to the base game, including commercial wall-to-wall buildings, and buildings with lots of windows. Back in 2016, it was revealed that the game had overtaken 100,000 mods on the Steam Workshop, so it’s great to see mods still be created and supported.
The Downtown Radio DLC adds 16 original songs from DJ Troy Anderson and boasts a modern lounge music theme and a retro vibe, which seems to go hand-in-hand with the Content Creator Pack’s modern aesthetic.
The Content Creator Pack will be $4.99 while the Downtown Radio DLC will be $3.99. Those interested in both will be able to grab the Downtown Radio Bundle for $7.99.
If you’re looking at jumping into the game and seeing what it’s like, or just making the most out of the free weekend, you’ll be able to jump onto the PC version today from 10am PST. The Xbox One version will be free from 12:01am PST. The free weekend ends on November 11.
Cities: Skylines is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
