This past week, developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision announced the start Call of Duty: WWII’s current in-game event, Attack of the Undead. To help players manage their way through the slew of zombies, the developers posted some tips for players to keep in mind on their blog yesterday.
Three Game Modes
The game modes include Hordepoint, Relic of the Undead, and Infected. While the first two will be familiar, Infected allows you to play as both the infected and the uninfected. If you’re not apart of the undead, you’ll fight to be the last survivor. There will be some care packages dropped in, but be aware of your surroundings when you go after them as zombies can be surprisingly sneaky.
Those who are infected will fight to infect as many survivors as possible, which honestly sounds more fun. If you press down the tactical grenade button while infected, a glowing green spawn point skull will drop right where you stand which can be used to ambush survivor camps.
Groesten Haus Map Available
While it was previously only live for the infected, Groesten Haus will be a free map for all players in Multiplayer. Work to control the map’s central cabin because the second floor provides solid sightlines and only two points of entry. Windows are marked on your mini-map with parallel red lines. During Infected, hang out near the initial spawns or near the cave as these locations can create a bottleneck of undead, making survival much easier.
Unlockable Weapons
The list includes:
- Fire Axe
- Claymore Sword
- Nambu Type 2 Submachine Gun
- Lever Action Sniper Rifle
- Blunderbuss Shotgun
- PTRS-41 Sniper Rifle
- Stinger Light Machine Gun
- Tesla Gun
Community Challenge
Killing two billion zombies is the Community Challenge. Every zombie you kill adds to the community kill count. These are then broken up into five tiers where every participant will receive a reward once each one is completed. This is also the only way that the Tesla Gun will be available.
The Attack of the Undead event will be going on until June 26th.
Call of Duty also shared this code for Face Camos on their Twitter:
