The Division 2 is set to release this week and we’ve already got our hands on the final product. Ubisoft pushed the game’s servers live this morning rather than tonight at midnight as originally planned, but we aren’t complaining.
As a result, we’ve already played the opening of the game and made sure to capture the first 30 minutes to give you an idea of what’s in store. The Division 2 kicks off much faster than its predecessor and more quickly streamlines the ins and outs of the combat, customization, and mission structure. Rather than the extended intro some might remember from the original The Division, this sequel gets you into the heart of Washington D.C. quickly.
It’s worth noting that if you have the Gold Edition of The Division 2, the game should be live for you as well. What we played here wasn’t some magical early access press version of The Division 2. Those who buy the Gold Edition of The Division 2 are able to get early access to the game–starting now–and will also receive the Year 1 Pass, making sure you’ll get all additional post-launch paid DLC that arrives in the first year. If you’re interested, you can still pre-order this edition of The Division 2 right now over on Amazon.
Check out the gameplay video in question attached at the bottom of the page. If you’re just planning on picking up the standard version of The Division 2, you can expect it to release this Friday, March 15, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
