A couple weeks ago we learned that Call of Duty: WWII would be getting its first event community event based around the holiday season, but, at the time, we didn’t have much information about it. Today that all changes, as developer Sledgehammer Games have officially announced some brand new details about the game’s Winter Siege event.
First and foremost, the Headquarters will be receiving a winter-themed overlay, which shouldn’t really surprise anyone. A brand new Quartermaster, Captain Butcher, will be dropping by the social space, bringing some new items with him when he does, including winter-themed cosmetic items, weapon variants, and even some full-blown weapons in the form of the Trench Knife, Ice Pick, Gewehr 43, Sten, and the GPMG.
In addition to that, it was also revealed that Gun Game would be making its return, and, if you choose to play it during the third week of December, you’ll be able to earn double XP.
These two new additions join the already announced Winter Carentan map, which will be made available to all players, regardless of whether or not they own the Season Pass, unlike the original map.
The Winter Siege event will take place from Friday, December 8, 2017, to January 2, 2018. Each week of the event players will be tasked with new challenges, daily orders, and more. You can check out the full list of events below.
To celebrate the announcement and release of the Winter Siege event, a brand new trailer was released which shows off all of the game’s festivities. You can, as always, check out the video at the end of the article.
Call of Duty: WWII was originally released on November 3, 2017, and is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
