Call of Duty: WWII debuts at the top, showing once more that Japanese gamers have become more accepting of western first-person shooters. ARK: Survival evolved ranks second, while the recently-released Assassin’s Creed Origins and .hack//G.U. Last Recode are at the bottom end of the top-five.
Gran Turismo Sport dropped in ninth position, showing once more than the veteran racing series has some catching up to do with its Japanese fans.
Call of Duty: WWII also topped the Media Create Charts for retail games, beating both Infinite Warfare and Black Ops III‘s debut weeks in terms of sales. According to the firm, returning to World War II after so many years of science fiction, and the lack of a competing Battlefield game helped the new Call of Duty achieve this result.
