It’s nearly the start of the month, which means it’s about time for Sony to announce the new games coming to PS Plus. Generally, the games launch on the first Tuesday of a new month, but this go-around, Sony has a little surprise in store. Today they announced that, when you wake up tomorrow, you’ll already be able to download Call of Duty: WWII. We don’t yet know the other game(s) coming, but this Memorial Day surprise is a great start to June’s lineup.
PS Plus members: Call of Duty: WWII is part of the monthly games lineup for June, and will be available for download starting May 26.
We’ll share additional details of our monthly lineup later this week. Enjoy! pic.twitter.com/ECVwca1cXq

Call of Duty‘s jump back into the second World War isn’t as well-loved critically as some of the other recent CoD entries. However, the multiplayer and zombie modes are definitely worth checking out if you have a PS Plus subscription. And hopefully, this is just the start of a big month from Sony.
Some rumors are claiming Marvel’s Spider-Man might be included as part of June’s PS Plus lineup. Call of Duty is big, but Spider-Man would be a huge addition to Sony’s service. Of course, take all of this with a grain of salt, but considering marketing for the PS5 has to start up sooner or later, it might make sense to generate some goodwill with a massive game like Spider-Man.
It’s also worth remembering that Microsoft gives Xbox Game Pass subscribers every first-party title as part of the service. The next round of “console wars” could come down to services rather than hardware. Thus, Sony might be setting the table to offer a similar way to get their titles in the players’ hands. Again, none of this is anywhere close to confirmed. However, with big announcements coming soon from Sony, we’ll soon know much more about the PS5 and its services.
PS Plus members can download Call of Duty: WWII on May 26. Sony will announce the full PS Plus lineup for June soon.
