A series of weekend Open-Beta sessions are about to get started for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War with the first one will be happening this weekend exclusively for PS4 players.
Revealed in a brand new trailer, those who pre-ordered Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War on PS4 can jump into the first Open-Beta session as of October 8th, while the rest of the PS4 community will get access to the game from October 10th up until October 12th.
When the next weekend arrives, Xbox One and PC players that have pre-ordered Black Ops Cold War will gain access to Open Beta from October 15th to October 16th. Not to mention that the Open-Beta will be available for PS4 players as well during that period. Eventually, there will be a fully free Open-Beta session across all platforms from October 17th to October 19th.
As the new trailer reveals, Team Deathmatch, Domination, VIP Escort, Kill Confirmed, and Combined Arms are going to be available during the Open-Beta sessions. VIP Escort seems to be a brand new multiplayer mode that we haven’t seen something similar to it in Call of Duty Modern Warfare so far. On the other hand, Combined Arms is a new name to Modern Warfare‘s Ground War, however, we expect to see some new features at least.
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is set to be launched on November 13 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC. It’s yet to be seen whether the game would feature some exclusive content on PlayStation versions. Recently, the Special Ops game mode from Call of Duty Modern Warfare quitted from its PS4-exclusivity period and became available for Xbox One and PC players as well. So, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the same thing happening with Black Ops Cold War as well.
