Be cautious traveler, seeing we’re dealing with DLC, Borderlands 3 main story spoilers await you down the line.
The second DLC story expansion for Gearbox’s Borderlands 3 is out now! This all-new story focuses on the marriage of Alistar Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs. Those who watched through the Borderlands 3 credits might remember the couple’s quick proposal. Regardless, it costs $14.99 to attend the couple’s engagement party; while season pass owners already received their invites. Most noteworthy is that the DLC introduces a new planet, Xylourgos, to explore.
In order to access the DLC, pick up the quest available in Hammerlock’s room onboard Sanctuary, then navigate to Xylourgos. Aside from the obvious addition of new bosses, collectibles, enemies, missions, and weapons, this DLC raises the level cap from 53 to 57. Meaning enemies will be stronger than ever, and others who are enjoying mayhem mode like myself will need to search for brand new loot.
Some of the greatest Borderlands stories are from DLC expansions; Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep is a favorite of mine. I hope that this second DLC pack manages to be amazing and channel some of the classic Borderlands humor that was missing from the main story. However, even if the DLC is disappointing, I’ll be happy with the increased level cap.
Borderlands 3: Guns, Love, and Tentacles The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock can be downloaded now taking up 5.5 GB. Ironically, the DLC is bugged on Epic Games where Borderlands 3 first released on PC making me happy that I waited six months for a Steam release. Borderlands is undoubtedly one of my favorite comfort food games, and one of the best to play with friends. That being said, this DLC comes at a perfect time as Steam players are just starting to finish the game.
Have fun at the engagement party, and stay tuned to DualShockers for full opinions on the DLC.
