Today Koei Tecmo released a new batch of screenshots of its anime-inspired game Attack on Titan 2.
The screenshots showcase the custom hero that we can create, enjoying the story of the anime from a different perspective. You can select various parameters for the face and body type, and of course gender and clothes. During the game, your custom character will interact with the story’s established characters.
We also get to see several features that we can enjoy between missions in Attack on Titan 2.
The Titan Research Insitute allows you to study the titans you capture with the restraining gun. Proceeding with research will trigger favorable conditions in battle.
It’s also possible to develop new equipment, including blades, sheath, cylinders, and three-dimensional maneuver gear. Their appearance can also be changed.
You can train your hero both with formal classroom lessons and sparring against other characters.
Search missions are free quests separate from the main story. With those, the player can gather funds and materials required for improving their equipment. The friendship level with other characters can also be improved by partnering with them during those missions and taking them along.
The army organization feature includes a variety of activities to prepare for future missions. You can add new powerful weapons to the turrets defending the base, or even have a cooking session that will distribute meals raising the soldiers’ stats in the next mission.
Last, but not least, you can have conversations with many characters. Selecting the right dialogue choices will increase their friendship level, and when it reaches a certain value, you can enjoy dedicated sidequests.
You can enjoy the screenshots below, alongside a TV commercial also released today. f you want to see more, you can check out the latest story trailer, more screenshots introducing more members of the cast, a recent gameplay trailer, the first gameplay and even more action which we filmed off the screen of a demo station at Paris Games Week. We also heard from Producer Hisashi Koinuma himself on the reasons why the game is being ported to Nintendo Switch.
Attack on Titan 2 will launch in the west for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 20th, 2018. The Japanese release will be just five days earlier, on March 15th.
