Last September, Nintendo announced that a range of Super Mario-themed items would be making their way to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This was then teased again at the start of this year, following the announcement of the Festivale update. Now, for the first time since its official reveal, Nintendo has shared more details about the Animal Crossing Mario update. The details came during the company’s first Nintendo Direct in almost 18 months. Here’s everything we know so far.
When is the Animal Crossing Mario update?
The title update will be heading to the Nintendo Switch on February 25, just a week away. The furniture and fashion items will then be available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons from March 1 and will be available directly in Nook Shopping.

What do the items do?
A lot of the items shown in the video seem incredibly interactive. There’s a Thwomp that can block player’s paths, a Goal Pole where players can hoist a flag and most importantly, the Warp Pipe, which works and will allow players to fast travel across their islands.
This is definitely one of the coolest updates to Animal Crossing: New Horizons so far. It will be incredibly interesting to see how people start to turn their islands into Super Mario levels.
