Given the similarities that PUBG has to AMC’s wildly-popular The Walking Dead, it only seems appropriate that the two would mashup in some way, and this weekend you’ll get to see that in action on “Survival Sunday.”
In a report from Polygon, AMC has revealed that it is partnering with Twitch to run a tournament in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to coincide with the network’s “Survival Sunday” event on Sunday, April 15th, which will air both the Season 8 finale of The Walking Dead and the Season 4 premiere of its spin-off series, Fear the Walking Dead.
The event itself will provide a tournament between eight different Twitch streamers in a 4v4 set-up, with the participating streamers including Sacriel, ChocoTaco, Anthony_Kongphan, iiJERiiCHOii, VernNotice, GoldGlove, JoshOG and Fairlight_Excalibur. Commentary during the stream will be done by “Dead_flip” and Scott “Coltrane” Cole.
Overall, the tournament will drop all eight players against each other in the Zombies Mode in PUBG, with each participating team to represent one of the two programs airing on AMC that night – one team for The Walking Dead, and another for Fear the Walking Dead.
The tournament itself will kick off on Sunday, April 15th, 2018 at 4pm ET and is currently expected to run through until around 8pm ET, leading into the airing of both The Walking Dead programme’s episodes for the night.
