As a spiritual successor to the beloved Wonder Boy series (which got its own well-regarded remake last year), the upcoming Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is aiming to bring over the classic side-scroller platforming gameplay of yesterday with some modern tweaks, and luckily those wanting to experience it won’t have too much longer to wait.
Publisher FDG Entertainment has announced that Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom will be aiming for a Summer 2018 release window, and while no specific release date was revealed at this time, those looking for a physical edition of the game will also be happy to know that it will be available at retail as well.
FDG Entertainment revealed that it is partnering with SEGA to produce physical editions of Monster Boy for both PS4 and the Nintendo Switch, and that the physical editions of the game will launch simultaneously with the game’s digital release this summer.
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom will release for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC in Summer 2018.
We’re happy to announce that Monster Boy will also release on #PS4 disc This Summer! Super excited about the opportunity to work with @Sega for the best possible retail partner coverage in North America. #MonsterBoyGame #WonderBoy @PlayStation #PlayStation4 pic.twitter.com/UA9PZXHO5N
