Fallout 76 – Legendary Cores
Legendary Cores are a crafting component in Fallout 76, and were introduced as part of the new Steel Reign update. These cores are used to add legendary effects onto weapons, armor, and power armor that are not usually legendary.
So, how do you get them? Well, the Legendary Cores can only be obtained by completing public events, seasonal events, daily ops, and scoreboard rewards. Completing any of the public events will guarantee the player receives legendary cores.
The easiest way to get the new Legendary Cores is to complete Public Events such as ‘A Colossal Problem’ or ‘Campfire Tales’. The former will guarantee the player 8 Legendary Cores, with the latter guaranteeing anywhere between 2 and 6 cores. Many of the other events work on a percentage chance of the player receiving a Legendary Core, but there are various other Public Events that guarantee cores.
The following events will guarantee the player receives legendary cores once completed or if certain circumstances are met:
- A Colossal Problem [Public Event] – 8 on Completion
- Campire Tales [Public Event] – 2-6 on Completion
- Encryptid [Public Event] – 8 on Completion
- Fasnacht Day [Seasonal Event] – 1 core if 2 or less parade merchers alive
- Free Range [Public Event] – 8 cores if 3 brahmin alive
- Project Paradise [Public Event] – 8 cores if 3 creatures alive with or without ARIC-4 shutdown
- Scorched Earth [Public Event] – 5 on Completion
