The latest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone update has a lot to offer for fans out there. From the Fara 83 Assault Rifle to the newly-added Outbreak mode, there is tons of new content in the game. The update also adds two new forms of aetherium crystals, refined aetherium crystals, and flawless aetherium crystals.
How to get refined and flawless aetherium crystals
For those who are unaware, aetherium crystals made their debut in the game in the Zombies mode in Cold War. These crystals were quite popular as players could farm them to level up their gear from Tier 1 to Tier 3. This would help them to improve their gear and gain a significant advantage in battles. In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone, these crystals are getting an upgraded form.
Refined aetherium crystals and flawless aetherium crystals will allow players to upgrade their weapons beyond Tier 1 and Tier 3. To upgrade a weapon to Tier 4, you need the refined aetherium crystal. Likewise, upgrading weapons to Tier 5 will require a flawless aetherium crystal.
Previously, players needed to complete the 10th round of the Zombie mode to get one raw aetherium crystal. On top of that, players got another raw aetherium crystal if they successfully exfiltrated. This has been changed in the newly-added Outbreak mode. Now, players need to complete one experiment to get one raw aetherium crystal while successfully exfiltrating will reward them with another.
But what about flawless and refined aetherium crystals? To get them, players will need to get past even harder obstacles. This involves completing even more objectives in Outbreak or finishing more rounds in traditional Zombie matches. Once you have the crystals, you can use them to upgrade your weapon to Tier 4 and Tier 5.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC.
