Genshin Impact is nearing the release date for the 1.3 version. That means tons of new content is coming to the game. Players are getting new banner events, character reworks, and so much more over the course of the next six weeks. However, to get it all in the game, the team at miYoHo will need to shut down the servers. See their announcement below and then jump down to learn more about the maintenance times and compensation.
Dear Travelers,
To ensure all Travelers have the best-possible Genshin Impact experience, our developers will soon begin performing update maintenance.

The maintenance update begins on February 3 at 6 am UTC+8. For those of us in the US, that’s February 2, at 5 pm ET. (Click here for a table with other time zones.) They are planning for the update to take about five hours, though the times may vary. It’s also worth noting that, given the number of players logging in after maintenance, you might experience some disruption. However, it should all be smoothed out relatively quickly.
Because Genshin Impact will be down for about five hours, the team at miYoHo is offering some compensation. All players who are Adventure Rank 5 or above will receive 300 Primogems. That’s 60 of them for each hour the service is down, but they won’t knock the number down if the update is completed early. It’s not 100% clear in the post; however, it seems that if the update takes longer you’ll get even more Primogems.
That kind of developer generosity is phenomenal and something I wish more companies would do. Personally, I only lightly dabble in Genshin Impact, but I do play a ton of other live service games like FIFA 21. In that community, compensation for outrages and mistakes is very rare. This makes me even happier to support devs who respect their player base so much.
Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4 and PS5. It is coming soon to Nintendo Switch .The 1.3 “All That Glitters” update goes live on February 3.
