The hype trains for next-gen consoles have officially left their platforms. Along with tomorrow’s hands-on look at the PS5’s DualSense controller, next week will bring some Xbox news with it. Microsoft will be hosting an Xbox Games Showcase July 23, featuring games, more games and pretty much exclusively games.
Announced on the Xbox news site, the Xbox Games Showcase will be airing at 9 am PST or 12 pm EST. An hour before it goes live, Geoff Keighly, known both as the creator of the Video Game Awards and as the Dorito Pope, will be hosting a Summer Game Fest pre-show with “predictions, insights from YouTube creators, and more on some already-announced titles coming to Xbox.” You can catch the main show on Xbox’s YouTube, Twitch, Facebook or Twitter accounts, while the pre-show will be live on YouTube Gaming.
Now with all that out of the way, here’s what you can expect from the show itself. According to the news post from Xbox, the Xbox Games Showcase will feature “world premieres and updated looks at some of the games we’ve already revealed.” That broad net catches a fair number of titles, including Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Scorn and Cyberpunk 2077. Naturally, Halo Infinite will be taking a central place in the show, debuting gameplay from its campaign.

Adding to the well of games that could potentially be at the show is Xbox Game Studios, the publisher behind all of Microsoft’s game developers. Besides 343, the publisher is also behind Mojang, the creators of Minecraft and Double Fine, the creators of Psychonauts. While there’s no guarantee that we’ll see games from all of the Xbox Game Studios developers, everything that we do see will have some impressive, consumer-friendly services behind it. According to the news post, all of the games from Xbox Game Studios shown will incorporate Xbox Game Pass, Xbox’s subscription game service or Smart Delivery, which automatically upgrades current-gen versions of games to next-gen.
Once again, you can catch the Xbox Games Showcase next week on July 23 at 9 am PST or 12 pm EST.
