During the EA Originals portion of the EA Play Live event on Thursday, indie studio Final Strike Games got time to show off its debut title, an explosive (literally) hero shooter called Rocket Arena.

True to its name, Rocket Arena is 3-v-3 with rockets only across all modes, and will launch with a roster of 10 characters, with plans to expand through a series of seasons that will bring more heroes, maps, and events . The game will launch July 14 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Origin, and will be crossplay enabled. The first season will kick off on July 28.

Final Strike is aiming to bring an ‘easy to pick up, hard to master’ experience with Rocket Arena, and a unique approach with a reliance only on rocket launchers to hopefully help it stand out.

But it’ll will likely be an uphill battle in a genre dominated by Overwatch, Apex Legends, and more recently Valorant.

July 14 isn’t far off, though, so it won’t take long to see how Rocket Arena will hold up.

The introduction of the game Thursday night capped off an EA Originals lineup also highlighted by Hazelight Studios’ It Takes Two and Zoink Games’ Lost in Random.
