Today Bandai Namco released a new batch of screenshots of the upcoming .hack//G.U. remaster .hack//G.U. Last Recode.
That being said, before you read further (and if the warning in the headline was not enough), keep in mind that this article and the screenshots themselves contain spoilers, since they’re about the new Volume 4, that happens after the original three volumes. Specifically, they actually spoil part of the story of Volume 4, so whether you’re new to the game, or have already played the first three volumes on PS2, you may want to consider the potential spoilers before moving on. If you want to go in blind, maybe it’s better to go back to the front page.
After Haseo manages to find and release Ovan, he will join the party. The lock on his left arm has been removed, and he now has a “third arm” attachment. It can be used to attack in battle. He will fight by attacking alternatively with his two guns, while the third arm can sweep a large area around him. Interestingly, the screenshots also showcases the artes he can use in battle.
You can check all the screenshots below. If you want to see more, you watch trailers featuring Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, and the new Volume 4 itself. You can also watch a comparison between the new visuals on PS4 and the original on PS2, and some raw gameplay from the beginning of the game recorded by yours truly at Bandai Namco’s headquarters in Shinagawa just before Tokyo Game Show.
The game will release on both PS4 and PC (via Steam) in North America and Europe on November 3rd. The Japanese launch will happen just two days earlier, on November 1st, 2017.
