It has been a really, really long time since we have heard anything from THQ Nordic’s upcoming action-adventure title Biomutant. Despite being playable at conventions such as PAX and E3 over the past few years, the game hasn’t seemed any closer to receiving an actual release date. Now, the developers behind the title have provided fans with an update.
Over on the official Biomutant Twitter account today, Experiment 101, the studio developing the game, stated that work on the project is still going as strong as ever. “We are doing everything we can to make this the best game all of us have ever worked on and that it will be as entertaining and great as we can possibly make it,” the studio explained. “We can only hope for your continued support and patience as we complete the final stages of its development.”

As for any release date or release window information for Biomutant, Experiment 101 had nothing to say on the matter. The developer acknowledged that a game the size of Biomutant’s takes a lot of work to finalize which is the reason why it has taken so long for a firm release date to come about. That said, whenever the studio feels completely confident that they can hit a specific shipping date, they said they’ll let fans know.
All in all, it’s nice to hear that Biomutant is still well on its way, even if it does end up arriving later than anticipated. Based on what we’ve played of the game previously, it seems like there could be a lot to be excited about with this THQ Nordic project.
Biomutant is set to release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC whenever it arrives. A Switch version of the game previously was listed on retail websites, but no such version of the title has yet to be formally announced.
