Thanks to a Xbox’s listing, we now have confirmation that Tango Gameworks and Bethesda’s upcoming third-person survival horror game, The Evil Within 2, will be Xbox One X enhanced and come packing HDR support, and run at 4K.
Unfortunately the listing provides no information whether or not the game will be native 4K or upscaled. Usually when native 4K isn’t specified that is a indication that it isn’t, but rather is upscaled.
The listing also confirms 4K compatibility for PC, but being an Xbox listing it obviously doesn’t confirm said compatibility for PS4 Pro, though it’s safe to assume if the game will support 4K on Xbox One X it will support it on Sony’s own supped-up console.
Now, how much Tango Gameworks will take advantage of Xbox One X’s increase in power has not been divulged. If those details are revealed, it will likely be closer to launch when such things are more finalized.
The Evil Within 2 is set to release on October 13th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC at the standard AAA price-point of $59.99 USD. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the game’s E3 2017 announcement trailer and its first batch of screenshots.
For those that don’t know, in The Evil Within 2 you once again step into the shoes of Detective Sebastian Castellanos, who must enter a world filled with nightmares to save his daughter and discover the dark origins of a once-idyllic town to bring her back.
