Following its reveal during PlayStation’s State of Play live stream today, Capcom has released more information on the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 3.

Capcom released the first official screenshots from Resident Evil 3 which further show off the game’s characters and locations. The screenshots that we see so far primarily highlight characters such as Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira, Brad Vickers, and of course, Nemesis. We also see a few different shots of Raccoon City from Jill’s point of view. Some of these locations include the streets of the city (which are filled with zombies), the sewers, and an abandoned train.

In addition, Capcom also released a message from the development team which revealed more information about this highly-anticipated remake. Much like Resident Evil 2RE3 will take place from an over-the-shoulder perspective. The game also once again uses Capcom’s RE Engine, which has previously been utilized in Resident Evil VIIResident Evil 2, and Devil May Cry V. As an included bonus, the Resident Evil multiplayer title Project Resistance will also be included with RE3 and is said to tell stories of “previously untold Umbrella experiments on the outskirts of Raccoon City.”

Lastly, the development team at Capcom also thanked fans for their support with this endeavor. Earlier this year, Capcom said that a remake of Resident Evil 3 could happen if the fans asked for it enough. While the game was surely in development before that time, fans definitely made their voices heard after this statement and now Capcom has made good on that promise.

You can check out all of the new screenshots and the developer message from Capcom down below if you’re interested. Resident Evil 3 is set to launch next year on April 3, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
