Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is (thankfully) coming to the Nintendo Switch in January next year following the release of its predecessor back on the Wii U. With being an Atlus title it was confirmed during its reveal that there would be new content similar other titles under the developers belt like Persona 5 Royal and Catherine: Full Body. Thanks to the most recent issue of Famitsu coming out tomorrow we now know more specifics regarding exactly what new elements are being brought to the game.

In the announcement trailer, it was shown that both Maiko Shimazaki, the president of Fortuna Entertainment and Tiki would take part in battles. Originally I thought that they would be new full-fledged party members, but unfortunately, they only help out during sessions in combat. Encore will feature new songs, music videos, and costumes. Additionally, for returning players, there will be a new dungeon to be explored.

Previously it was learned that Encore will feature the censored version of the game across all titlesTokyo Mirage Sessions #FE back on the Wii U was censored in the west by changing costumes to make them less revealing as well as making one of the female characters older. As a huge fan of the original, I’m extremely excited to play this updated version even though I wish there was more new content to jump into.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will release on January 17 next year exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
