We’re still quite a few days from the launch of the New Nintendo 2DS XL in North America, but nowadays releasing your “launch” trailer over a week before is all the rage, so Nintendo did just that.
We take a look at the console’s “sleek look,” “lightweight design” and “pretty big screens” on top of a few new games that will be playable on it, like Hey! Pikmin and Miitopia.
The new portable console will cost $149.99, and will come to North America only in the “Black X Turquoise” color, while the “White X Orange” option will be exclusive to Europe and Japan.
It will have the same screen size of the New Nintendo 3DS XL, but like the 2DS, it will lack the 3D feature. It will include the C-stick, and the ZL and ZR buttons, on top of NFC tech to enable communication with amiibo.
The console will also be also much lighter than the 3DS XL, weighing about 260g instead of 329g.
Speaking of Miitopia and Hey! Pikmin, that will launch on the same day as the console, we get two trailers for those as well, for good measure.
