Hideo Kojima tweeted on May 17 how his day was brightened thanks to Tetsuya Mizuguchi paying him a visit. In a follow-up tweet, Tetsuya Mizuguchi said that Kojima showed him Death Stranding and how awesome it is. Mizuguchi wrote that he” touched the heart of Death Stranding” in English, and that “he saw the game” in Japanese.
Tetsuya Mizuguchi is pretty beloved among the people who once shared their lives with a Dreamcast. Rez and the Space Channel 5 duology first released on Sega’s ahead of its time masterpiece. You might also know Mizuguchi through Meteos, Lumines, or the new and critically acclaimed Tetris Effect.
It always feels nice to see two incredible game developers so friendly with each other. What would be even nicer though, is Space Channel 5‘s Ulala appearing in Death Stranding, shooting the weird monsters and saving the babies in a cool rhythm game.
Hideo Kojima said he might release a new trailer for Death Stranding soon, and he’s been sharing more blurry pics than usual on Twitter, seemingly working on one. On the other hand, it’s been quite a while since he revealed another seiyuu part of the Japanese dub. I’m looking forward to these reveals as its possibly the aspect of Death Stranding I’m actually the most hyped about.
Kojima also has “something big” in store for Cloud Gaming, either Death Stranding itself or something completely new.
Death Stranding will be launching on PS4 one day and possibly on PS5 too.
