Yesterday I launched my review of Left Alive, the latest (and maybe the last) tie-in to the Front Mission series. All-in-all I found the game to be neither fun or good, so it’s probably best for you to avoid it at all costs. Nevertheless, if you are interested in trying the game for yourself, definitely give the gameplay below a watch to see if it could potentially click with you.
The gameplay shows the first 24 minutes of the game. I’ve cut out the end bit to avoid any spoilers if you are interested in checking out the story for yourself. Chapter one has you playing as Wanzer pilot named Mikhail who you’ll be playing as in a multitude of chapters in the game alongside two other playable characters. The introduction itself is incredibly odd as you’re immediately thrown in and being shot at.
Throughout the rest of the chapter, you’ll see some firefights with the game’s atrocious shooting controls as well as a Wanzer segment where I mow down a whole lot of enemies. These Wanzer sections are some of the more interesting moments throughout the game, however, they don’t control the best. The first mission is a pretty terrible introduction to the game, but thankfully I played it so you don’t have to.
Left Alive is available now on PC and PS4. The game was first revealed at Tokyo Game Show in 2017. While it’s certainly not the return to form I’m sure many Front Mission fans wanted, the director of Left Alive, Toshifumi Nabeshima, expressed that he’s open to creating a more traditional game in the series.
