To commemorate the launch of Nier: Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition, Square Enix will be hosting a live broadcast at their Storia cafe in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district. The event will be livestreamed via the company’s Square Enix Presents YouTube channel on February 20 at 8 p.m. JST.
Interestingly, only forty people will be able to attend the showing in person, likely due to the smaller size of the cafe. Applications are available on the website but if you’re not currently in Japan for whatever reason, I wouldn’t expect to get one at all. Also, because this seems like it’ll be a relatively smaller event, we should definitely keep our expectations in check. According to Storia’s website, the event will focus on the latest info on the series as well as developer and guest talks.
In terms of guests, Yoko Taro, the director of Nier: Automata, will be making an appearance as well as Yosuke Saito, the producer of the title. Additionally, the game’s wonderful composer, Keiichi Okabe, will be there alongside Takahisa Taura, a designer from Platinum Games who worked on Automata with Taro-san. Naoki Yoshida, the producer, and director of Final Fantasy XIV will also be in attendance.
The live event will be around two hours in length. I’m personally hoping we’ll hear more about the upcoming Nier: Automata-related content coming to Final Fantasy XIV. That’s all I can really conjure up in terms of announcements though. I think it’s highly unlikely we’ll get anything too shocking. It seems like the event is more in-line with celebrating the success of one of this generation’s greatest games.
In other Nier: Automata news, you can pick up a beautifully detailed figure of 2B over on Square Enix’s store; and it won’t break the bank. If you’re interested in playing through Nier: Automata again, you can pre-order the digital Game of the YoRHa Edition to snag yourself a pretty cool dynamic theme on PS4. Finally, if you didn’t already know, 2B is a playable DLC character in Bandai Namco’s Soul Calibur VI.
Nier: Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition is launching on the PS4 in Japan on February 21 and will be available worldwide for both PC and PS4 on February 26.
