Climb atop your mighty steed and make haste towards your blocky foes as 8-Bit Hordes makes its way to consoles.
Military precision and an eye for tactics are two of the skills needed to compete in the equally adorable and amusing RTS title from Petroglyph Games. 8-Bit Hordes takes a number of fantasy-themed forces and pits them against one another on a colorful battlefield.
The game features deliberately blocky sprites which look like they would fit right at home in the early days of 3D gaming and allows players to forge armies filled with dragons, orcs, and all manner of other classical creatures. Brightly colored warfare is then waged between the main factions. The undead fight under the name of the Deathswoon while the brave elves enter the battle beneath the banner of the Lightbringers.
Not only do these two wildly different factions clash on the battlefield, but the game also allows for cross-play with other titles within the 8-Bit series. This means that players may find themselves defending their castles against the incoming alien forces of 8-Bit Invaders! or fending off the modern military forces of 8-Bit Armies.
To top it all off, 8-Bit Hordes also features a number of gameplay modes including a full single player campaign, co-op, and a traditional skirmish mode.
8-Bit Hordes is available now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can also pick it up along with its intergalactic and military based counter-parts on PC.
